About to buy Game Changer

I’m buying the Game Changer this weekend. I’m going with the rock sport shocks. If I do the 3.5” with the exhaust spacer, do I need to do new drive shafts immediately or can that happen down the road?

With the flex you might eventually need them, but I wouldn't say it's an immediate need. Just wait and see and know that you might eventually tear the rubber on the stock driveshaft. For some people, that's one trail, and for others, it can be years... depending on driving style. It'll start slinging grease and then you'll know.

If you have sufficient funds or you're wanting to take advantage of a black Friday deal, then by all means go for it. But personally, I'd wait and see.

Thank you!

I’d like to spend the money to get fenders now and then just get the shafts when needed. I spend more time in pavement then off currently anyway.

Congrats on the kit, you'll love it. It rode better than stock when I put mine on. I ran the stock driveshafts for 10k miles with that lift and the exhaust spacers. The rubber boot did wear through and under full droop you could hear the splines rubbing on the cross pipe but it was still functioning when I replaced it.
Are you installing it yourself?

You'll need to make sure and adjust the steering wheel back to center or your traction control will play havoc with you getting to the alignment shop (found out the hard way). I set the toe-in with a tape measure and the caster with an angle finder close to 5 degrees, and after fixing the steering wheel alignment was able to drive it to the shop with no issues.

Thanks for the tip... I'm going to be doing my own install in January...

I just did my 3.5 dual rate with a friend in my driveway. It's pretty straight forward. I bought an AEV procal which can help you center the steering wheel in addition to letting you change your speedo with tires/gears but centering the steering wheel was very easy I didn't even need the procal to do it.

When u get the lift on and the jeep back on ground makes sure the front diff and rear diff are centered. U can adjust the trackbars in or out to get them centered.Do this before taking it to get it alignend.

Also not in the directions on the lift u have to remove the parking brake cable hanger that holds the cables to bottom of the jeep rear floor area above the rear diff area.

Is that alignment pretty easy
If you're talking about making sure the axles are centered it's more time consuming than hard but make sure you take the time to do it right. Once you get the whole kit installed you'll want to make sure everything is settled then tightened.

The best advice I read is if your tires stick out past your fenders you can measure that distance on both sides and adjust the track bar in or out based on that measurement until you get it centered.

I only had 1 track bar to install as i didn't do the game changer so it was pretty easy for me.

Were there any tricks you picked up during install other than what’s stated above?
Make sure you fully read the instructions (as they ask you to) and print them out in color. As you read through them make sure you identify each part in your possession. I didn't verify my contents fully and they either rolled away day of install (and still haven't been found) or I didn't get them but I didn't have the aluminum spacers for the outboard shock mounts at the time of install. I called the next business day and they sent some right out for me whether it was my fault or not. Top notch customer service.

Also as you take off hardware (nuts & bolts) put it back in its respective places if possible. You get new hardware for a few parts but I found it really helpful to have the old stuff where it belonged so I wasn't trying to sort through a bunch of stuff on the ground or in trays when putting stuff back on. Also when in doubt take a picture FIRST of how something looks. "Did these swaybar links go on the inside or outside of the post...?"

A easy way to measure for centering the diff is u can take long level and hold it verticle on the center of the tire and wheel and get a measuring tape measure to the center of each fender off of the side of the level.
