Questions on Overland Sport vs. True Dual-Rate rocksport lifts.

In the very near future I will be replacing my OEM suspension & steering systems as the dealership recently told me some of my components will need to be replaced before too long.

I've been comparing the two and I was wondering why the overland has the front control arm drop brackets and the dual-rate doesn't. I know the dual-rate has the front upper control arms but is that enough to correct the caster location? In the long run I would like to build my way to the game changer so I feel like getting the dual-rate is the way to go now as I would have less to buy, but I have no idea how long it would be until that happens so I want to make sure I am making the best choice for my needs going forward.

Second to this is lift size. I'm leaning towards the 2.5" lift because I will be running 35s and with my rack I already find enough places I can't park due to lack of overhead clearance. I've read that the 2.5" will get me closer to 3" since my JK doesn't have a lot of aftermarket weight. Currently the only thing is a Kargo Master cage and roof rack (between 100 and 150 lbs IIRC). A new front bumper with winch spot would be next on the list.

Most of the wheeling I do I would consider to be overlanding, exploring trails out in the high desert and running ridgeline trails into the mountains, with light to moderate obstacles and virtually no rock crawling. Eventually I also plan on adding an adventure trailer with a RTT.

Based on the above, what lift advice would you give me?

Despite not getting an answer yet I've made my choice between the two lifts since I need to replace my track bar and the dual rate comes with one, and as I noted before I want to upgrade eventually to the game changer.

It'd be great though to know for others reference though why one might be chosen over another as I'm sure I am not the only one that has had this question.

Have not yet decided on lift height.

I cant speak direct to your question but I went 2.5 true dual, similar to your thought, I am slowly changing all control arms out. As for ride height it did increase by 3" or so and has held that increase. I also am not running a lot of after market weight. As for caster the upper control arms easily adjust it to spec with no issues. My research would say the drop brackets help with ride just a bit as it help keep lower arm parallel, but with a 2.5 that angle is not greatly compromised. As for tire size I am running Nitto 34x11.5 and have no clearance issues with a 4.5 bs. So if I did it again I would make the same choice.
