Jeep Newb
Hey everybody!
I recently took the Jeep to the Rubicon Trail and it did great. It was very gratifying since I did all the mods myself, well, except gears and welding.
The only problem I had was the pitman end of the drag link hitting the sway bar while drooped on driver side and turning driver. It tore the drag link end boot, and I’ve already replaced it. Haven’t been wheeling since, And would like to solve this before we go again. I’d never heard of this, so I Googled around, but only found a few mentions.
The Jeep is a Rubicon, so electronic sway bar disconnect. Metalcloak 3.5” game changer. Yeti XD top mount no drill drag link.
It occurred to me that maybe I didn’t center my axle well after doing the drag link flip and raised track bar mount. But I’ve measured that thing from every conceivable reference point. The axle is centered (pat myself on back).
My other thought was to get quick disco sway bar links, but I figured if this was a common problem everybody would be doing it on their Rubicon.
So, any thoughts? Should I re-clock my pitman arm? I’m running the Metalcloak sway bar links, and the sway bar angle looks good at ride height. I can post picks of anything you want to see.
Thanks for your help!
