If you're looking to do some serious Jeep off-roading, a lift kit can be a great investment. However, there are a few things you need to know before you make a purchase.

Here are the main points to keep in mind:
  • Consider the type of on road and off road driving you'll be doing
  • Research the brand and quality of lift kit that works for your budget
  • If your not installing the components yourself you’ll need to find a quality shop and budget for their labor
  • Budget for the wheel and tire combination you are going to use
  • Budget for any suspension components that might need to be replaced that will not be included
  • When you install the larger tires your Jeeps performance and fuel mileage will be affected
  • Now is the time to start thinking about gearing changes and locking differentials if you’re going to tackle any serious obstacles. You really need to have the money for these upgrades in the bank and ready to go.
Additional Information
When choosing a lift kit, it's important to consider the type of driving you'll be doing. If you're only going to be doing light off-roading, a less expensive kit may be what you’re looking for. However, if you're going to be doing more serious off-roading, quality suspension components along with adjustable and stronger track bars, beefier control arms and sway bar links will be needed over the stock style components.

When researching lift kit brands, it's important to choose a high-quality brand that is known for producing durable and reliable products. Cheaper brands may seem like a good option at first, but they may not last as long or perform as well as higher-end brands over the duration of your ownership.
