Dana30 locker

So I’m building on a budget I have a 2003 tj d44 rear d30 front 3.73 gears 5 speed 4.0. So I have a spartan locker in the rear which wasn’t too bad on the wallet but I’m looking for something for the front now and it’s really hard to find anything inexpensive for the D30. I don’t want to spend a bunch of money on it cause I’m planning on going full width once I get all the parts together but still would like to have something to play with now. Any help would be grately appreciated

Dana 30’s are notoriously weak as I’m sure you know. As long as you’re easy on the throttle in “stuck” situations, a selectable locker is the only safe way to go like an expensive arb, or a cheaper option of a OX locker.
I would leave it open and even still, be cautious when wheelin. Careful when giving it gas when the wheels are turned and giving it throttle.

I have been running the loc-rite for years with no issues on my D-30.
I am running 35" tires also.
I have only broke 1 axle since the install and larger tires.
It is all about easy on the skinny peddle though.
Let the Jeep crawl using the Atlas and 4.56 gears for slow and easy.

I've run auburn ected locker in my dana 30 for quite a while with no issues, it's a semi-selectable locker, acts as a posi-track by default then when I flip the switch it smashes the friction plates together and is effectively locked (still subject to slipping in extreme cases). The benefit is this friction allows for a little more give and takes some pressure off the axle itself but it gives up some of the full lock feeling as a result. It's more expensive than a spartan locker but gives a little more in the way of capability and runs cheaper than ARB or other selectables.
