Thank you! With the flex you might eventually need them, but I wouldn't say it's an immediate need. Just wait and see and know that you might eventually tear the rubber on the stock driveshaft. For some people, that's one trail, and for others, it can be years... depending on driving style. It'll start slinging grease and then you'll know.
If you have sufficient funds or you're wanting to take advantage of a black Friday deal, then by all means go for it. But personally, I'd wait and see.
Thanks for the tip... I'm going to be doing my own install in January...You'll need to make sure and adjust the steering wheel back to center or your traction control will play havoc with you getting to the alignment shop (found out the hard way). I set the toe-in with a tape measure and the caster with an angle finder close to 5 degrees, and after fixing the steering wheel alignment was able to drive it to the shop with no issues.
I just did my 3.5 dual rate with a friend in my driveway. It's pretty straight forward. I bought an AEV procal which can help you center the steering wheel in addition to letting you change your speedo with tires/gears but centering the steering wheel was very easy I didn't even need the procal to do it.Thanks for the tip... I'm going to be doing my own install in January...
If you're talking about making sure the axles are centered it's more time consuming than hard but make sure you take the time to do it right. Once you get the whole kit installed you'll want to make sure everything is settled then tightened. Is that alignment pretty easy
Make sure you fully read the instructions (as they ask you to) and print them out in color. As you read through them make sure you identify each part in your possession. I didn't verify my contents fully and they either rolled away day of install (and still haven't been found) or I didn't get them but I didn't have the aluminum spacers for the outboard shock mounts at the time of install. I called the next business day and they sent some right out for me whether it was my fault or not. Top notch customer service. Were there any tricks you picked up during install other than what’s stated above?
