separating drag link from pitman arm

so... I wanted to start the install of my Metalcloak lift today -
but stalled out on one of the 1st steps..

I was hoping not to destroy the tie rod end with a pickle fork, but I can not seem to get the drag link from the pitman arm.
Any recommendations appreciated.

What I've tried so far:
---i've turned the castle nut upside down and gave it some hits,
---hit all around the pitman arm, and
---attempted pry bar - but not much leverage.

sorry if this has been posted before, however I was unable to find it i a search.

Leave the castle nut loosely on the threads. Hold a heavy hammer against one side of the Pitman Arm at the tie rod end and strike the other side with a hammer. A few blows should see the tie rod end drop free but kept from hitting the ground by the castle nut.
