Off-road trails by region?

Wondering what you all think about having the forum admins adding off-road trails by region?

I know I don’t know of all the trails around my side of the country. Maybe difficulty levels, terrain type and reports of what to expect by experiences of people that have been there

Thoughts?

From a data organization perspective it could be time consuming to make sure it remains usable but I would love a feature or way to be able to find more trails or specific routes around me at a difficulty I am comfortable with.

Was thinking like “west coast” Washington, Oregon, Nevada, California Arizona
“Central” Colorado, Wyoming Montana New Mexico
Etc etc

I would love to know about trails outside of my Northern California and plan trips with help from others knowledge and difficulty input.

I’ve seen Del Albright post on Facebook about trails and doesn’t give much feedback on where or what it’s like. But his pics look like somewhere I’d like to check out

I would fully support a "west coast" or better yet "California" or even better "Southern California" (our areas are very large!) section.. We have several trail review videos of many of the popular trails in our area ready to post, and we are always making new ones.

I feel like SoCal could even broke out into North and South...

I think it would be great to add this to the forum.
It could be some work to make sure it is accurate though.
GPS tracks could be uploaded also for the trail.

There are a couple of free web sites with trail info already.
www.wheretowheel.com is one site already.

There is plenty of other sites that have similar regional off-roading. Would be good to expand with modernjeeper forum

TJDon, I'm always happy to answer questions about particular trails, just ask. But when I post up, it's usually related to an event where tons of info is usually readily available about the scheduled trails. So I try to show the fun or the obstacles or the scenery; not the trail description usually.

It wasn’t a knock Del, sorry if it sounded that way. Being you’re always out and about exploring, you would be able to give good descriptions on the difficulty or easiness, type of terrain along with what you guys got to experience. I’m envious of your adventures and would be a good benefit to a region forum thread here on this website along with other members here to add their adventures

We have all kinds of off-roaders here from novice to hardcore, and anyone planning on a trip to somewhere they have never been or have been could get great advice planning and mapping

I myself would love to know more trails that are not necessarily rock crawling, but exploring out to the middle of nowhere to a aspen grove, a natural spring in the NV desert, a secluded stream or a ghost town. But I don’t know where it is or what type of terrain etc as an example.

I’m just brainstorming ideas for the website

In xenforo adding categories like this is pretty easy but time-consuming. I left xenforo because I couldn't figure out how to do advanced layouts like we can with Joomla.

@TJDon We have our directory set up so you can search for listings and trails based on:
Distance
2.JPG
Type of Trail using our universal trail rating system - https://rl4wd.com/TrailRatingSystem (this isn't done yet but getting close).
3.JPG
Or by reviews from drivers
4.JPG

I think you can do some of this with what you have though, it's just a lot of time from what I've seen.
