I’m new here

Jeep Newb
I’ve had jeeps off and on since my first one, a 1978 Jeep CJ-7 Golden Eagle I bought when it was about three years old. About three years ago I had been driving my two door 16’ Rubicon for a couple years. I decided to go to four doors so that I’d have more space to transport dog crates (my wife and I are pretty active in dog rescue).

I bought a used 2017 JKU Rubicon Recon from a dealership. It wasn’t a year old, and had about ten thousand miles. I only had it a few days when the transmission failed. I decided to buy a new JKU Rubicon instead, but vowed to put the Metalcloak Game Changer lift under the new Jeep, so much had the suspension impressed me. Like that Recon I outfitted mine with Falcon 3.3 shocks.

My wife noticed the difference from stock right away, and she isn’t usually very sensitive to changes. She asked how I’d made it handle so much better, but also ride much better. Now anytime I’m asked I let the person drive it, and then tell them what it is. Not everyone can afford it. I got mine with a discount for being a veteran, and then waited six months to afford those shocks! It was well worth the wait.
