Hutchinson Rockmonsters vs Spyderlocks

Looking for opinions out there on Hutchinson rockmonsters vs spyderlock beadlocks from folks running these kind of beadlocks. What made you go with what you have over the other. I’m torn between the two. Jeep is my daily driver as well

I am trying to decide between the rock monsters and the mopar beadlocks. I am interested in what people say in your thread.

I am in the same boat on the mopars and huts. I currently have the imitation hut rock monsters because I like the look, but didnt want to spend 2.5 k on 5 wheels. The mopars are nice as well and cheaper I believe. Plus you can start with the cheaper option of imitaion locks/standard wheels, and add the tru lock rings down the road for hundo per wheel I think. But the huts are actually two pieces and make mounting yourself easier. Also I think a true double bead lock, where mopar are only the outer bead. The huts use a inners tube system pressing on both beads. All in preference I guess. I believe this is correct, I could be mistaken.

The Huts are dot legal I believe. Not sure on spyderlocks. Anything with clamp style ring is not dot. I think mopar with true bead rings installed are also not dot legal. Huts are just two piece standard style wheel with a tube inside to squish the inner tire bead to the outer rim bead lip. If that makes sense...? I would just recheck that torque on the lugs holding the two wheel halfs together on a reg basis driving daily though.
I thought spyderlocks are a traditional bead lock style? Not dot legal...?

There is also the option of staun, inner air lock and Coyote internal beadlock systems that allow you to convert a stock or standard aftermarket wheel into a dot style beadlock. Only issue is you drill a hole in wheel for tube valve stem. Once done, no going back. Also prob a little more difficult to install than on the huts two piece setup, which uses the same style inner clamp tube setup as these.

I prefer the design of the Hutchinson rockmonsters In addition to the information above, ex. they are legal, the rockmonsters lock the inner and outter bead. A reason for not choosing the rockmonsters could be the limited size selection, I think they only come in 15 in or 17 in.

Yes, you are correct. Another preference of rim size. I personally love my 17 x 9 imitation rock monster wheels on 37 x 12.5 combo. But some like the 18 or larger wheels. I just like sidewall and feel that when you air down, hense the need for beadlocks, you want more sidewall to give you more footprint. But to each their own...
I would say that a 15 with 37 seems a little off as well. Too much sidewall. But perfect for 33 or maybe 35. Again, its all preference. Nothings perfect.
A daily driver will want a dot style beadlock though. I however, have been happy with 10-14 psi on non beadlock 17s. No issues yet, but Im not hardcore enough for a requirement of the beadlocks just yet. When I have the cash to blow down the road, I may get myself the rock monsters Ive always wanted and see how much the extra air down capability will benefit my wheeling.

I’m a huge fan of the spyderlocks. Not only for looks but the way the ring is supposed to brace the outer piece of the wheel. I also believe the Huts are more costly to replace the outer lock if severely damaged.
