My first Jeep is a '68 Jeepster Commando that I bought as a junior in high school. I still own it, but it hasn't been driven in 20 years and will need some TLC, when I can get to it.
I now have an '07 JKU that my wife and I bought brand new. We drove it stock, off-roading for camping trips and fun until December. We just got it back from Bruiser Conversions, where we had a Cummins 4BT, NV4500 transmission, Rubicon transfer case, Ultimate Dana 60s, Hutchinson Rock Monster 8 lug wheels, and a second fuel tank installed. We will ship it to Durban, South Africa at the end of June. In SA, we will get a Conqueror Companion camp trailer and then travel north, eventually finishing our Africa trip in Morocco.
We will post updates from our trip on the forum and maybe even get some space on the Modern Jeeper website.
