Adding a truss system to my d30

So with my Metalcloak game changer lift, I was looking at the artec armor kit to add to my axle. Two questions:
1. Stock height or raised bracket height? I have a 2 1/2” lift.
2. Anybody have experience with them
3. Any other system you’d go with?

Honestly, I would only add the C Gussets. If you wanted to do anything else, hammer in some axle sleeves. I do not see any benefit in the truss, especially on a D30.

What are you running tire size? What are you wanting to do with your rig?

I agree with Pthorpe on this one of only adding the sleeves.

I am not one to talk though, as I am still running my D30 with 35's and stock axle shafts.
Timebomb waiting.

If you are going to go with large tires, and lots of rock crawling type of stuff, I would find the money to get a D44 at the minimum.
The plan for my Jeep is to buy a D44 or the Currie F9 for the front soon.

Your not the only one. Im running a 44 with stock axles and 37's...its only a matter of time before i twist the splines too far. Yikes!

Our saying at work is "Do It Right The First Time!"
I think that applies here. You can throw good money at a D30 and it is still a D30.
Spend the extra money for the 44 or something with more beef if you are going to being crawling in big rocks.

Wheel it til it breaks and then get a bigger axle. Save that money for the 44. You wont get much for the 30, that’s why I say wheel it til it breaks. 😉

I’ve tried for 5 months looking for a used d44 front axle with no luck. I have to swap out the gears anyway to 4.10s per Motech and add an elocker. I’m on 33’s now may go to 35’s on the next set. Light wheeling for sure

I agree with Pthorpe and Todd. With conscious wheeling and no skinny pedal I would say it’d last a while with 35’s. Also depends on your traction and wheeling environment. I’d save the money you would put into your 30 and pocket it for a 44.

I’ve seen some people run 37’s locally on a 30 with little actual wheeling and the ring and pinion just don’t last. But I don’t know their story either just what I’ve seen. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Ok so for a 44, which platform to choose?
Platform like manufacturer? Or like rockjock vs prorock?

Budget plays a big part. I know some people that have the Dana-Spicer ultimate 44, and Dynatrac’s 44. Depending on your area you might be able to pick up a used Rubicon 44.

Yeah yeah. Everyone says light wheeling starting out🤣. What part of the world are you in?

As far as manufactures. Check out Fusion 4X4. Talk with Dan. They have a great warranty as well. I believe it is lifetime on the shafts. Could be off a bit.

I just got the jeep back from the shop and I’m thrilled. No longer a slug with 4:56 gears and can actually accelerate going up hill now. Waiting on the front axle. Next thread coming.

Awesome to hear man. Can’t wait to see the front. Did you put in rcv’s for the rear as well?
