OverEngineer

I'm presently configuring my family's 06 LJ into an overlander.
Previously, I built an F250 as a "do everything" from crawling to overloading. Only the paint was stock. A custom suspension and Atlas transfer case allowed front digs to compensate for the wheelbase. Each failure point was designed out and redundancy became the watchword. Two winches, EPIRB and Ham radios, four spare tires (only carried two) and no consideration for weight at all. Two major drawbacks: Two wide for Black Bear Pass, and too big for the girlfriend to enjoy.
The LJ will be completely different. Weight is now the critical measure. Composite panels vs steel, doing more with less. Paring everything down to the minimum.
I love jeeps and also own a 63 Wilys Pickup, 69 462, 70 CJ5 (restomod)
