Greetings from cold New Jersey!!! I just registered for the forum!

I have a 2016 JKU Rubicon Hard Rock that I picked up in January... my first-ever Jeep! I've only done a few, minor things, but I think I'm close to diving in. I'm looking at the 3.5" Game Changer (Rocksport shocks), wheels, and 37" tires (leaning towards Cooper Discoverer STT Pros)! I'll be here on the forum looking for information and advice!

Not new to the Jeep seen but bought a 2018 unlimited Sahara two weeks ago. My question is will 35 inch tires fit on the the rims it came with?

Hello All! I hope this doesn't get me in trouble, but I switched my account from BigBlueJKU to this one. I have some "type A" tendencies and I was able to get this handle on Instagram and other forums (whereas BigBlueJKU was taken in some instances).

I installed the 3.5 MC GC lift two weeks ago. I did not grow up turning wrenches, but I've learned a few things over the years. This is my first Jeep and my first lift install and it went very smoothly! Kudos to the folks that wrote the MC installation instructions! Once the lift was in, I put the Jeep on a trailer and took it to Globex Performance. I ordered the STT Pros online and had them shipped to the shop. They mounted them on the KMC XD229s, balanced them, put them on the Jeep, and performed an alignment (that included checking castor, pinion, etc.). I wasn't expecting to do anything else, but I ended up doing steering components and ball joints based on their recommendation. The Jeep came with 4.10 gears. It's sluggish, but I'm okay with it for now (gotta replenish some funds lol). Gears might be in my future. I bought a Flashcal to correct my speedo, so I'll be able to update the ECM if I do gears (I also like the ability to control the TPMS). Before gears, I'm leaning towards Rock Slide Engineering steps/rock rails so the wife and kids have an easier time getting in and out. I'm also looking at MetalCloak fenders (leaning towards overlands, but also considering overlines) and the UnderCloak armor.

Let me know what you think and thanks for all the words of welcome!!!!

Welcome again! Good looking rig, and nice color 👍🏻 I have the overlines on my TJ and absolutely love them. You can’t go wrong with either. You can also mix and match between overline and overland if you wish as well. The undercloak system is on my list too, happy Jeeping 👋🏼

Thanks so much! I drove almost 2 hours (one way) because I wanted a JKU in hydro blue. I believe that 2016 is the last year that they made Jeeps in that color. I hadn't thought of mixing and matching the overlines and overlands, so thanks for the suggestion. I'm not torn on the appearance (I like both of them). It's more a question of function. I'm not sure, but I believe that the overlines provide more clearance, but they're also more expensive. I'm also considering going with aluminum (I think that will "pop" nicely against the blue like the wheels), but MC only makes the overlands in aluminum. Decisions, decisions lol!!!

Aluminum and Hydro Blue would be killer!
Tough Decisions! I've gone back and forth more times than I can count on my JK build.

I found this helpful when I was learning about the Overlines vs Overlands and the mixing.
This quote is from Matson on the JKForum

"The front mounting points are essentially the same, the rears are significantly different.

Clearance-wise, the Overlines have 2.5" more clearance then the Overlands. The Overlands are meant to be more like the industry standard for aftermarket fenders on the JK.

Strength-wise, the front Overlands are very similar to the Overlines because of the shared bracketing, but the rear Overlands are no where near as strong as the Overlines with the rear ExoSkin.

As the video mentions, the Overlines provide the MOST strength and the MOST clearance of any bolt-on aftermarket fender for the JK, the Overlands are an option for those who may not need all that."
