CTI scores

Jeep models score differently on the CTI. My old TJ will probably never out flex a well built JK (or now a new JL). Wheel base has a little to do with it, but the key is to take your score, after evaluating what the Metalcloak folks told you were your "hangups" in your jeep scoring higher, and decide if YOU want to spend the time and money to score more. And we all know, it's not the score -- it's how the score relates to your style of wheeling. With my Metalcloak dual rate coil springs and Rock Sports shocks, combined with all my other steering and linkage mods, I score in the high 800's. But that's after 4 rebuilds.

Scored 840 on mine. I need to remove some bump stop in the front on mine. The rear seemed to be as good as it’s going to get with my current set up. 3.5” Game Changer with Rocksports.

2.5" AEV Dualsport on 35's..... All my friends were comparing their scores and the person running the CTI said I got a perfect score and couldn't give me a number. Felt jipped.

I never really worried about what my “official” score is. I merely used it to check clearances, binding, etc. I am more interested in how it rides, handles and wheels. My old TJ never scored very well - 4” long arm with triangulated rear four link, Currie AntiRocks, etc. but did everything I wanted it to do offroad. My JK still needs a couple of tweaks but it’s getting there.

Your exactly correct and that is the primary purpose of the trailer. There is no safer way to check clearance then the cti trailer.

With that said, trash talking rights are always fun 😁

Brokeagain and Pthorpe84 have it right. Still, for the purposes of this thread, my then-stock two-door JK scored 580. If things fall into place, I'll be lifting it this spring or summer, at which point I hope to track down the CTI trailer again.

I scored 860 in March of 2018. I was running 3" bumps in the front and 2" bumps in the rear with factory flares on 315/70r17s. Also, I have some rear sway bar disconnects (disconnected for the CTI). My front drive shaft just touched my Rock Hard oil pan skid, so I adjusted the skid over slightly. Other than that, I was pretty well maxed out with that setup.

My prior score in 2017 was 740ish. I was running 4" bumps front and rear (per the MC instructions for factory flares). Also, my rear sway bar bolts were contacting the frame. The main recommendation was to lower the bumps to 3"/2" front & rear and to trim the bolts. So I trimmed the bolts and also installed the disconnects for additional options.

I just put on overlines, so I'll drop it down to 2" bumps in the front (still running the same tires), and see where I'm at in a few months when the CTI comes back to town. I'm hoping to be able to score it twice...once with rear sway bar connected and one disconnected. I've read all of MC's comments regarding the rear sway bar for the JK, and I'd really like to know the actual CTI score impact for my Jeep. I still plan on re-routing the hard rear brake lines for clearance on runs when I keep it connected.
