I don't know much about welding. But it seems this thing is a home run for a guy/gal wanting to have a unit at the garage that can do it all.

It is not. Its sort of like the Jeep Grand Cherokee. Supposed to be great on the road, great off the road and get great fuel mileage with the power to tow.

It is OK at everything it does and not great at any one of them.

Would it be great for the beginner wanting to learn?

Its harder to learn on something that will not do something well. You will struggle, even if you have the talent.



Sort of like learning how to rock crawl with an RC car....
