After 8 successful years, we figured the Duroflex Joint deserved an upgrade... so in March 2018 (after a year and a half of development and testing) we started quietly introducing a new Duroflex Joint into our suspension systems.

What's different?

For one, we added our iconic M to the side... for another, they now are made with Dupont Kevlar fiber.

Here is the announcement in this week's Metalcloak Minute:

If you have original Duroflex Joints, do you need to upgrade? Absolutely not, the Duroflex Bushings continue to prove to have industry leading durability. However, when that time comes, there are full upgrade kits available.

All questions and feedback are welcome.

Interesting addition to the joint. Definitely will increase the strength by reinforcing the vulcanized rubber.

Overall, are the new joints stiffer due to the added fibers?

No, the durometer of the rubber did not change. We would not have proceeded with the Kevlar if the basic attributes of the Duroflex Joints... those attributes that have led to it's success... would have been compromised at all.

That is great information. I can’t imagine anyone needing to replace joints in many, many years on a new set of arms. Thanks for the info Matsonian.
