Ask The Expert- JK Steering misalignment after wheeling.

So it seems myself and a lot of JK/U owners have a problem with the steering wheel becoming misaligned after a trip off-road. No bent drag links, No bent tie rods. No crazy bumps or dropoff's. So, what's going on and how do we fix it. Other than realigning the wheel after every trip.

I have encountered this as well from something working loose or getting leveraged enough to shift in a mount. There is a lot of leverage going on in the front end when turning off road in the rocks or against an obstacle. I will normally give the suspension a once over before leaving for a trip to make sure I don't have any loose hardware or parts that need to be fixed. Track bar bolts are the main one I have seen shift. There is a huge difference in clamping force between 90 and 125 ftlbs.

I have had the same issue. Mine is from small bends in my tie rod causing the vehicle to track wrong. I am constantly having to adjust it after every ride. Stock for now...upgrading soon.
