I think I may end up painting my control arms and steering components for added protection....that is once I get new one.

How do you like the 4.88's? If you built it again would you do it with the same parts? I was going to do the exact same thing on my 07 JKU. Ultimately I want to go with 37" tires so I was not sure what gear ratio would be best.

I am running 4.88's with BFG 37's and it may be a touch on the low side. BFG's run a bit small so that could make a difference. First gear is very short lived so I will often take off in second if flat or slight downhill. When calibrating my speedometer I ended up inputing a tire height of 35.75" to get it right by GPS.
