I currently have 3.73s and want to go up I have a set of 4.10 but probably gonna go to 4.56 my question is on most of the lockers I see for sale say”for 3.73 and down” does that mean that I need a different carrier to run anything over 3.73?

There is different thickness carriers. A thick carrier is needed for anything taller than 3.73’s

You should be fine as long as you have 3.73's and thats the cutoff. Anything numerically higher than 3.73 should work with the carrier you have. If you had say 3.55 gears, you would need a new carrier.

That’s exactly what I was wondering because everything I was looking at was saying either 3.73 and up or 3.73 and down so I was confused wether mine would be suitable for 4.10

I always wondered if they ment lower gears or lower numbers. I have been looking at lockers lately and am totally confused on what’s best for my rig.

What tire size, engine and transmission do you have?
I went 4.88’s in my TJ
4.0ltr manual trans and 35” tires and it’s about perfect

After tires I’d say lockers or a winch should be priority as far as first upgrades go which one u get first is up to u. Get lockers u might not need a winch. But get a winch and it really doesn’t matter if u can make it or not
