    Tire carriers

The thing that bugs me about the AEV tire carrier is that it sits offset from center.

    Rear Inner Fenders

I sprayed mine with black Plasti-Dip because it helps absorb the noise of pebbles being tossed against it by the tires, since it's thick and semi-soft compared to regular spray paint.

    Oil Change

I use Royal Purple filters and oil. Internal engine protection is not something I need the cheap-out on.

    Tire carriers

Along with a bunch of other MetalCloak upgrades, I've now upgraded to 38's which of course the MC rear tire carrier has no problem accommodating. I could sit my near-300lb ass on top of the spare and jump around, and the assembly still wouldn't care. :)

    Tire carriers

I have the MetalCloak rear bumper and tire carrier, and its utility has been awesome! I love that it's essentially unlimited in how much weight I can hang off of it, and it never rattles. I have mounted to the tire carrier a 14.5-gallon Titan Trekker fuel tank, 35" spare (soon to be 38"), a...

    Favorite diff cover...what is yours?

Based on those Banks videos, I wouldn't be surprised if they were planning to get into the diff cover market.

    CB or HAM

Anyone going 4-wheeling outside of cellular phone range really owes it to themselves to get a basic Technician-class Amateur Radio license and a ham radio. If you get hopelessly stuck, broken down, or someone gets hurt, communication becomes a very real lifesaver. Even the cheapo Baofeng radios...

    Big tires and stock parts

The nylon cup in the OEM ball joints is fine for OEM applications because it's a self-lubricating material that lasts a long time with zero maintenance on a stock vehicle. The ball joints are only intended for a vertical load, however, so running big tires spaced out from the steering axis...

    Milestar Patagonia MT

I plan to upgrade to a set of these soon. I'll share my opinions once I've got some roads and trails under them.

Wheel backspacing and tire fitment for 37's and 38's

Thank you very much for the pictures and information. I'm very sorry to hear about your friend and I hope that I didn't come across as impatient. 37's with no lift is impressive. I'm hoping that I won't have too much trouble fitting 38's with the MC 3.5" springs. I might need to adjust my...

    Treadwright tires

Treadwright makes a number of different tires. I had the 35" Guard Dogs with Kedge Grip and I loved them. They were great on-road (daily driver) and fantastic off-road (rocks, dirt, snow). My only complaint was that they're so noisy on the highway because they do not have a variable pitch...

    Fridge install in a JK

FWIW I've been using an inexpensive Edgestar freezer/fridge for several years, and when it's not bumping around in the back of my Jeep it's in my garage serving as a beer fridge. I have a dedicated auxiliary battery in my Jeep that'll power it for 3-4 days before its low voltage cutoff at 11.5v...

Wheel backspacing and tire fitment for 37's and 38's

Not to be impatient, but it's Wednesday and I'd still love to see! ;)

I would appreciate that. I'd love to see what fender mods you've made.

Looking for input on aftermarket exhaust

I like having a quiet exhaust, not only so I can enjoy music or the sounds of nature, but also because V6's simply do not sound good. If I had a V8, I'd be interested in hearing the engine, but I do not want to listen to a V6 drone.

Wheel backspacing and tire fitment for 37's and 38's

I'm not offended, and I appreciate your effort to help. I just need information from someone who has used or seen 37" and 38" tires on a JK, and who can offer advice on wheel backspacing. I was merely explaining why, as appreciated as it was, your input wasn't answering any of my questions; I...

Wheel backspacing and tire fitment for 37's and 38's

I'm asking for fitment experience for specific tires of specific sizes on wheels of specific dimensions; I'm not interested in continuing to use OEM wheels, especially since I'm looking to mount 13.5" wide tires and they're simply too wide for the 7.5" wide OEM wheels. I don't see what the...

    Tire size disparities

There's another reason why their stated measurements are inaccurate: it's because their numbers are wrong. For instance, their 37" A/T KO2 is claimed to measure 36.5" diameter. Not. Even. Close. Their measurement charts are a joke. Other manufacturers' charts may be more reliable, but not...

Wheel backspacing and tire fitment for 37's and 38's

I'm looking to upgrade to 37x12.5R17 or 38x13.5R17 Milestar Patagonias and I am having trouble finding accurate information on tire fitment, specifically tire rub on the inner fenders, sway bar, and lower control arms. I currently have OEM Rubicon 17x7.5 wheels on 1.5" Spidertrax wheel spacers...
